SUMMER ACADEMY 

 

Make your summer count at the BAMSI Summer Academy! Designed for high school students, recent graduates, and curious young minds, our Academy blends hands-on learning with fun, exploration, and career discovery in agriculture, marine science, and sustainability. Experience college life, gain new skills, and explore future careers—all in one unforgettable summer.

Our Mission

To engage, inspire, and educate the next generation through experiential summer programmes that promote food security, marine stewardship, environmental awareness, and entrepreneurship in The Bahamas.

 

Who Should Attend?

  • Students entering grades 10–12
  • Recent high school graduates
  • Youth ages 15–18 with a passion for science, nature, or sustainability
  • Students considering BAMSI for college

 

Programme Highlights

  • Hands-on Training in Agriculture & Aquaculture
  • Marine Science Field Activities (snorkeling, seagrass & coral studies)
  • Animal Husbandry & Greenhouse Farming
  • Agri-entrepreneurship & Food Innovation Labs
  • Leadership Development & Life Skills Workshops
  • Group Projects, Field Trips, and Guest Speakers
  • College & Career Readiness Sessions

 

Programme Format

Location: BAMSI Campus, North Andros

Duration: 1 to 4 weeks (varies by track)

Format: In-person residential experience with supervised dorms as per program

Includes: Meals, field gear, academic materials, and excursions as per program
