Safety and Security
At the Bahamas Agriculture and Marine Science Institute (BAMSI), the safety and security of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors are top priorities. We are proud to provide a safe and supportive campus environment that allows our students to pursue their academic and personal goals with confidence and peace of mind.
BAMSI maintains a dedicated 24-hour security service on campus, ensuring constant monitoring and rapid response to any incidents. Our trained security personnel conduct routine patrols, manage access control, and are supported by surveillance systems and emergency protocols designed to keep all members of the BAMSI community safe.
In addition to physical security, BAMSI actively promotes a culture of awareness and shared responsibility. Safety awareness campaigns, student orientations, and regular drills help ensure that everyone on campus understands how to contribute to a secure environment.
Key elements of our safety and security program include:
- 24/7 campus security patrols and monitoring
- Emergency response protocols and trained personnel
- Campus-wide surveillance in strategic locations
- Safety training and awareness sessions for students and staff
- Collaboration with local law enforcement and emergency services
- We make available to all students, faculty and staff a TEXT alert system that would be used in an instance where urgent or emergency notification was deemed necessary. A text alert would be sent to all those who subscribe to this service. In addition, we would employ our EMAIL system, college website and social media as necessary.
We believe that safety is a shared responsibility and encourage all members of the BAMSI community to remain vigilant, report concerns promptly, and work together to uphold a secure learning environment. The College has the utmost concern for the success of each student and strives to provide a space in which individuals can live a life free from outside interference. With this freedom, however, comes the responsibility of becoming an active participant in exercising personal safety. No security plan can attain maximum effectiveness unless everyone does their part to make it work. Together, we can continue to make BAMSI a safe and fun place to gain an education.
Through proactive security management and a community-focused approach, BAMSI remains committed to ensuring the well-being of every student as they live, learn, and grow.
