MAILBOATS: In The Bahamas, mail boats are a critical mode of transportation that connect the capital, Nassau, with the many Family Islands. These vessels carry not only mail but also essential supplies, food, construction materials, vehicles, and even passengers. Operating weekly or bi-weekly out of Potter’s Cay Dock, mail boats are vital for inter-island commerce, education, and healthcare, especially for those living in more remote areas. For many Bahamians, they represent an affordable and reliable means of travel and shipping, maintaining a steady flow of goods and services throughout the archipelago.
