Summer Education Enhancement Discovery Series (SEEDS)

The SEEDS Program at BAMSI is a dynamic, science-based summer initiative designed for high school students (grades 7 to 12) across The Bahamas. Launched in June 2016, SEEDS attracts students from throughout the archipelago who are eager to explore the vital connections between agriculture, marine science, food production, and environmental stewardship.

This immersive program focuses on the sustainable use of The Bahamas’ natural resources and supports national goals around food security and climate resilience. Through SEEDS, BAMSI is building capacity in the agriculture and fisheries sectors by helping young Bahamians understand the powerful link between science, nutrition, environmental care, and the overall welfare of our nation.

Our hands-on, discovery-based learning model is central to the program’s success—students don’t just learn about sustainability, they live it. Whether they're planting in the field, studying coral reefs, or engaging in eco-entrepreneurship workshops, SEEDS participants gain real-world experience that empowers them to lead with purpose.
