NATIONAL CERTIFICATION IN FLATS FISHING VETERAN GUIDES PROGRAM 2025

 

This course is for non-certified, experienced fly-fishing guides operating in The Bahamas.

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • 10 years or more guiding experience
  • Bahamian Passport or Voter's Card

Course Requirements:

  • Valid Captain's License - B Class & STCW
  • Current Bahama Host

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

No, you do not have to travel to BAMSI Campus, North Andros, for classes. All classes are held in New Providence at the National Training Agency, Munnings Drive, and Gladstone Road. 

Yes, you can take the course while you are working on getting your license and other certificates.

Certificates are issued after completion of classes and the submission of a valid captain’s license, STCW, and Bahama Host. If you wish to receive your certificate by the end of this year, all documents must be submitted by November 30, 2025.

No, BAMSI cannot automatically reissue a certificate that was originally issued by the Ministry of Tourism.

In order to be nationally recognized as a certified flats fishing guide, it is required that you successfully complete the National Certification in Flats Fishing Guides program.

Participants are encouraged to have at least one reference from their home island.

This program is only offered once per year.
