Nassau, Bahamas, October 5, 2018: The Bahamas Agriculture and Marine Science Institute (BAMSI) and Western Air, two titans of economic development and community buildout in North Andros, announced last week that they are partnering with a purpose. The two organizations intend to drive community initiatives and, in particular, support outreach efforts that focus on education, economic empowerment for youth and global training opportunities.
Dr. Raveenia Roberts-Hanna, BAMSI’s Executive Director, said the partnership was an exciting one because while both agencies represent a different industry perspective, the two have found common ground in their desire to see North Andros flourish and the youth of the community have an expanded pool of opportunities from which to choose.
Vice-President & COO of Western Air Shandrice Woodside-Rolle also expressed her excitement for the new partnership, saying the airline was formed to serve the North Andros community and falling in line with that, the new initiative with BAMSI will propel the mission into even wider areas. As an Androsian herself, the strength and stability of the North Andros community is of great importance to her, both personally and professional, and this initiative and others like it will help to ensure the community continues toward positive development.
